PDF to PDF/A

Adds what archival PDF/A-2B requires at the file level: an XMP packet declaring pdfaid part 2 / conformance B with the document title and dates, an sRGB output intent (embedded ICC profile), a document ID and MarkInfo, and synchronised Info metadata. Honest scope: fonts that the source did not embed are not re-embedded, and transparency/encryption issues are not rewritten — so validate with veraPDF before relying on it for compliance.

How to use PDF to PDF/A

Writes PDF/A-2B identification (XMP pdfaid), an sRGB output intent, document ID and MarkInfo. Fonts not re-embedded — validate with veraPDF.

  1. Prepare your input

Open the PDF you want to prepare for archiving.

  2. Use the workspace

Add the supported PDF/A identification and output-intent information.

  3. Check your result

Validate the exported file with an independent PDF/A validator before relying on compliance.

Know the limits

This does not guarantee PDF/A conformance. Missing fonts and other incompatible content are not fully repaired.
