<rows> with one <row> per record and one element per header column. Header names are made valid XML names (invalid characters → _, leading digit → _); the original header is kept as a name="" attribute when it had to change. Values are text, escaped.

How to use CSV to XML

<rows> of <row> elements with one element per header column; names sanitised, values escaped, well-formed.

  1. Prepare your input

    Paste CSV with named columns.

  2. Use the workspace

Inspect row elements and escaped cell values.

  3. Check your result

Check the generated element names before using the XML.

Know the limits

Header names are sanitized into XML names; this may differ from a schema expected by another system.
